Some preschools will accept children at around 2½-3 years old; this doesn't necessarily mean your child is ready for preschool.
Signs that your child is ready for preschool:
• Can the child take care of their basic needs? (using restroom, wash own hands) • Does the child like to interact with other children in games or imaginary play? Do they play well with other children? • Is the child able to communicate needs verbally? • Does the child respond well to discipline? • Is the child coordinated enough to run, climb and play without constantly falling and getting injured? • Does the child throw fewer than 2-3 tantrums a day? • How does the child react to playing in an environment without you being present? If your child has been cared for by a babysitter or a relative, he'll be better prepared to separate from you when he's at preschool. • Child is independent, are they able to works on project alone? • Does the child like to keep to a routine?
Are there some tips from experienced moms on how you prepared your child for preschool?
